“Our scientists and experts are continuously monitoring the national and global situation. We have to work on their suggestions with a pre-emptive, pro-active, and collective approach,” he said.

According to the prime minister, despite managing the COVID-19 crisis better than other countries, many states are seeing an increase in infections. He also advocated for greater collaboration between the states and the federal government and an emphasis on improving the country’s medical infrastructure.

He praised the country’s vaccination drive, saying it’s a source of pride that 96 percent of the adult population has received the first dosage.

“It’s a matter of pride for every citizen that 96 percent of our adult population has been vaccinated with the first dose of the vaccine and 85 percent of the eligible population above 15 years of age inoculated with the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine,” he added.

Stopping the virus at the source has always been a priority for us, and it should continue to be so today.

“We must equally successfully implement our Test, Track, and Treat plan. A 100 percent RT-PCR test for patients admitted to hospitals with significant influenza illnesses is required.”
