INDIA: On February 21, Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar and actress-model Shibani Dandekar will tie the knot. The couple is expected to marry on February 19 at Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi’s Khandala estate in a modest ceremony.
According to the most recent reports, Farhan and Shibani will not have a Nikah or a Maharashtrian wedding. The wedding, which will be held in private, is expected to have around 50 guests.
On February 21, they will officially register their marriage. Farhan has been dating Shibani for more than four years.
The pair have planned their pre-wedding celebrations, which began on Thursday evening and will conclude on Saturday. Shibani’s friends were spotted arriving at Farhan’s home in Mumbai on Thursday for the Mehendi ceremony.
The photographers snapped Farhan’s stepmother Shabana Azmi, Shibani’s sister Anusha Dandekar, her friend Rhea Chakraborty, and Amrita Arora outside the couple’s Mumbai home. The guests were dressed in traditional yellow clothing.
According to reports, the bride-to-be wore a yellow gown and danced to Ranveer Singh’s Aankh Marey song from ‘Simmba’. The couple’s close friends and family members attended the Mehendi ceremony. The sangeet ceremony for Farhan and Shibani will take place today, February 18.
“Yes, the wedding is taking place,” Javed Akhtar had said earlier, confirming the nuptials. “The wedding planners will take care of the rest, shaadi ki jo taiyyariyan hain.”
Due to the COVID-19 scenario, the wedding will be an intimate affair with close friends and family, according to the acclaimed lyricist.
“Given the circumstances, it’s clear that we won’t be able to host anything on a huge scale.”
“As a result, we’re only calling a few folks,” he explained.
“She is a very nice girl. She is adored by all of us,” Javed Akhtar stated of Shibani.
