INDIA. Mumbai: Legendary singer Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar (92) was provided the ventilator support once again at the Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai as her health deteriorated on Saturday.
Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to the hospital on January 8 and was kept on ventilator support twice earlier.
However, she was stated to have recovered from COVID-19 and Pneumonia on January 30 and was kept only on oxygen support thereafter.
A team of doctors headed by Dr. Pratit Samdani has been monitoring Latadidi’s health condition round the clock. Dr. Samdani told the media that she continues to be in ICU and responding to medical treatment.
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena President Raj Thackeray visited the hospital and inquired about her health on Saturday. He was in the hospital for over two hours.
The health of India’s nightingale continues to be a cause of concern and lakhs of her fans in India and abroad, have been waiting with bated breath for every health update.
Speaking to the Transcontinental Times, Anusha Srinivasan Iyer, a close friend of the Mangeshkar family said that as of now the family members are inaccessible.
A singer, a music director, a filmmaker, and a winner of many awards are regarded as one of Indian cinema’s greatest playback singers, having sung over 30,000 songs in various Indian languages.
