UNITED STATES: Leon Edwards finally gets the chance to fight for the UFC welterweight Title whereas Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal will fight at UFC 272 on 5th March at the T-Mobile Arena Las Vegas, Nevada.

Leon Edwards gets to fight for the UFC welterweight title after waiting for a very long time. Leon Edwards who is currently on a 9-fight win streak is going to fight the current UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman. The news was confirmed by the UFC president Dana White who said in an interview that Leon Edwards is 100% next in line for the title fight and he deserves it.

The last time both Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman fought against each other was way back in 2015. In that fight, Kamaru Usman got a unanimous decision win over Leon Edwards.

Since that fight, Leon Edwards won 9 consecutive fights and was eagerly waiting for the title shot so he can win the title and also get his revenge on Kamaru Usman.

Leon Edwards was scheduled to fight Jorge Masvidal at UFC 269 but that fight got canceled and now he has a chance to become the first British mixed martial artist to win the UFC welterweight title.

One of the most awaited and anticipated fights of 2022, the no.1 ranked welterweight fighter Colby Covington will fight against no.6 ranked Jorge Masvidal.

This is a highly anticipated fight because both Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal used to train together, live together, and were best friends.

No one exactly knows what went wrong between these two fighters but according to Colby Covington, Jorge Masvidal was a little jealous of Colby getting all the limelight and because of which things got heated between these two, and Colby left the gym in which they used to train together.

Both Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal had said some harsh words about each other in many interviews. This Grudge match is most likely going to headline UFC 272. Colby Covington has a record of 16 wins and 3 losses whereas Jorge Masvidal has a record of 35 wins and 15 losses.

In a recent interview, the current UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman said that according to him Colby Covington is going to win this fight. Kamaru Usman has fought both of these fighters twice and there is no doubt that Colby Covington was his toughest opponent.
