Nigeria. Abuja: Petroleum distribution in Nigeria has reduced by 132,301,071 litres in August, the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) report revealed.
When compared with the 1,867,925,811litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) supplied in July and the amount of PMS provided across the country in August, it showed a drastically shortening of about 132,301,071 litres.
The General Manager, Corporate Services, PPPRA, Kimchi Apollo, said this in Abuja.

Apollo said that in the month under review, the total truck-out volume for PMS was 1.79 billion litres.
“Therefore, the normal truck-out volume of PMS is 57.58 million litres daily,” Apollo stated.
The PPPRA further revealed that Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) imported 100 per cent of PMS in the review month.
Apollo also noted that Nigeria had an average PMS Days Sufficiency of 33 days.
“It is very important to see that the drop in the volume of PMS supplied in August does not in any way bring inadequacy of the product,” Apollo added.
However, the agency assured of the continued monitoring of the supply of petroleum products and advised stakeholders in the ministry on the need to ensure regular distribution to prevent scarcity.
“The stakeholders will continue to look at the process of PMS distribution and advise people involved to ensure continued product availability”. Apollo assured.
