BANGLADESH: Bangladesh defeats New Zealand by 4 runs to go 2-0 up in this 5 matches T20I series of New Zealand’s tour of Bangladesh. Bangladesh has now won 10 of their last 11 T20I matches at home. In their last T20I series at home, Bangladesh defeated Australia 4-1.
In this 2nd T20I of the series after winning the toss Bangladesh opted to bat first. Bangladeshi openers Mohammad Naim and Liton Das stitched up a 50 run partnership but they were not scoring runs at a fast pace. Bangladesh lost their first wicket at 59 runs in the form of Liton Das. After Liton Das, Mushfiqur Rahim came in to bat and he scored a golden duck and after 9.4 overs Bangladesh was 59/2.
Shakib Al Hasan hit 2 boundaries before getting out. After 11 overs Bangladesh was 72/3. Mahmudullah scored 37 runs off 32 balls which consisted of 5 boundaries and Nurul Hasan scored 13 runs off 9 deliveries to take Bangladesh innings to a respective total of 141/6. For New Zealand, Rachin Ravindra picked up 3 wickets whereas Ajaz Patel, Hamish Bennet, and Cole McConchie picked up 1 wicket each.

New Zealand innings started on a very bad note as they lost both their openers Tom Blundell and Rachin Ravindra in the powerplay and in just 2.3 overs New Zealand was 18/2. After that Tom Latham and Will Young joined forces to resurrect the New Zealand innings. They Both Stitched up a 43 runs partnership after losing 2 quick wickets.
Shakib Al Hasan broke the Partnership between Will Young and Tom Latham. After the departure of Will Young, New Zealand was 61/3 after 11 overs. After that apart from Tom Latham, every batsman failed to contribute. Tom Latham scored a brilliant unbeaten 65 runs off 49 balls which included 6 fours and 1 six but he failed to take New Zealand to victory as Bangladesh win this nail-biting match by 4 runs.
For Bangladesh, Mahedi Hasan and Shakib Al Hasan took 2 wickets each whereas Nasum Ahmed took 1 wicket.
