Indian Shooter Rahul Jakhar Finishes Fifth In 25M Pistol SH1 Final: Tokyo Paralympics

Another Indian shooter, Akash missed out on the final berth as he ended the qualification round with 551 points

INDIA: Indian shooter Rahul Jakhar finished fifth in the P3 mixed 25M pistol SH1 at Tokyo Paralympics on Thursday. Jakhar gave a tough fight in the summit clash. Jakhar couldn’t win a medal but he managed to win everyone’s hearts with his exceptional efforts. It was his maiden appearance at the Paralympic Games.

In the second stage elimination round of the final, Jakhar shot 2, 4, 1, and 1 to register a total score of 12 following his four points in the first essay. But, he still failed to achieve the podium spot. Meanwhile, China’s Huang Xing led the field comfortably.

Jakhar finished in the second position with 576 points after the conclusion of both precision and rapid rounds.

At the end of the precision round in the qualification event, Jakhar was in 13th position. He finished the precision round with 284 points. In the rapid round, the Jakhar registered 292 points to move into the finals.

Another Indian shooter, Akash missed out on the final berth as he ended the qualification round with 551 points.

Indian shooter Singhraj Adana, who took to the sport just four years ago, on Tuesday won the Paralympics bronze medal in the P1 men’s 10m air pistol SH1 event here. This was India’s second medal in shooting. Avani Lekhara won the women’s 10m air rifle standing finals (SH 1) on Monday.
