‘Colourful Phuket’ Festival

‘Colourful Phuket’ Festival features a full month of food, music, and street art, and from 3-31 July, the lively festival is being held to support the Phuket Sandbox program

THAILAND. Bangkok: The ‘Colourful Phuket Bring Back the Happiness’ Festival is almost midway through its month-long schedule. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is taking part in holding the festival, which began with a grand opening at Patong Beach and Phuket Old Town in the first week of July 2021.

Jointly organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and Phuket Province, the Festival features an entertaining program of fireworks, live music, sea sports, art installations, and food truck cuisine that runs right through to the end of July.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor, said “The Colourful Phuket Bring Back the Happiness Festival has been timed to coincide with the July launch of the Phuket Sandbox programmed and to provide the first of what we hope will be many, many tourists returning to the island with fun and engaging activities to enjoy.”

The grand opening at Patong Beach, the most famous of all Phuket’s beaches and a tourist favourite featured local food trucks serving delicious Thai cuisine, and fireworks and fire show entertainment lit up the evening in dazzling fashion.

The grand opening activity comprised of a ‘projection mapping’ light and sound show at the Peranakannitat Museum Phuket, located in the heart of the Old Town. ‘The Colourful Phuket Bring Back the Happiness’ Festival features a full month of food, music, and street art, and is scheduled to run at different locations around the island:

  • Week 1: Colourful art installations and recycled art displays at Patong Beach and the Old Town District along with local food trucks and mini concerts.
  • Week 2: Surf and sea sports activities with colourful photogenic displays and great beach vibes at Kata Beach, and sunset yoga at Promthep Cape.
  • Week 3: Digital art installations and street music at Patong Beach.
  • Week 4: Projection mapping art and street music at the Old Town District.
