EGYPT. Cairo: Egypt has shown the world that it is a country that believes in preserving history and chronicles its journey of civilization as it moves 22 royal Mummies from the Egyptian Museum to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in a stunning royal possession.

The 22 Pharaohs went through the streets of Cairo on Saturday in a golden possession with the backdrop of fireworks and pharaonic music ensemble conducted by renowned Egyptian Maestro, Nader Abbassi.
The royal mummies include 18 kings and 4 queens were transported in the chronological order of their reigns starting with King Seqenenre Tao, the last king of the 17th Dynasty while Ramses IX, who ruled in the 12th century BCE ended the entourage.
The mummies were placed in special capsules filled with nitrogen and craved in cards that will cradle and give them stability as they journeyed to their new resting place.
The golden chariots that drove them to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization had the names of the royal mummies encrypted on them in Arabic, English, and hieroglyphics.
60 motorcycles and 150 horses accompanied the mummies while the procession began with a 21-gun salute and the parade lasted for 40 minutes.
The Royal Pharaoh Mummies
The royal Pharaoh Mummies that were in the golden parade include King Seqenenre Taa, King Ahmose I, King Amenhotep I, King Thutmose I, King Thutmose II, King Thutmose III, King Seti I, King Ramses II, King Ramses III, King Ramses IX, Amenhotep II, Thutmose IV, Amenhotep III, King Merenptah, King Ramses IV, King Ramses V, King Ramses VI and King Seti II,
The Queen mummies include Queen Ahmose-Nefertari, Queen Tiye, Queen Meritamun, and Queen Hatshepsut
According to the Egypt Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Khaled El Enany, more than 30 expeditions worked hard to make the restoration of the mummies a reality.
The mummies will spend the two weeks in NMEC’s laboratory where they will be prepared for installation inside the Royal Mummies Hall which is modelled on the Valley of the Kings.
The Head of Conservation at the Mummies Conservation Lab and Storeroom at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, Dr Mostafa Ismail said that a team of 48 people are set to prepare the royal mummies.
According to him, the conservation process involves placing each mummy in an oxygen-free, nitrogen capsule that can keep the mummies preserved without being damaged from the effects of humidity and other elements.
Ismail explained that when the mummies arrive at the Museum, the display units will have the same conditions as the nitrogen capsules.
Accompanying each mummy will be any belongings discovered alongside them, including their coffins.
The display of the mummies will show CT scans which will reveal what is beneath the wraps which may include any breaks in bones or diseases that afflicted the royals.
The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization
The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization is designed to qualify for being an integrated recreational and cultural hub and has several halls equipped with state of the art exhibition and security system.

The museum is constructed with distinguished architectural designs, facilities and the museum itself is considered to be an outstanding artifact on its own.
The mummies hall is one of the most significant halls of the museum designed so that a visitor would experience the illusion of being present physically at the valley of the kings of Luxor.
The mummies would be displayed in the mummies hall and they would be showcased in a manner that will give them the befitting respect they deserve.
President of Egypt Recieved the Royal Mummies
President Abdel Fatai El-Sisi received the royal mummies when they arrived at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.
The President had earlier expressed his pride in being the leader who would have such historical moment during his tenure saying he was looking forward to recieving the mummies.
This majestic scene is a new evidence of the greatness of the Egyptian people who are guardians of the unique civilization extending deep into the depths of history.
“With all the pride and honour, I look forward to receiving the kings and queens of ancient Egypt”,he stated.
Egypt Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Khaled El Enany who appreciated President El-Sisi for his support in preserving the history of Egypt said that more than 20 museums and 20 monuments have been restored.
He said that the royal mummies will be placed at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization for the special reason which is for the benefit of the visitors of Egypt and enthusiasts of the history of Egypt.
