AFGHANISTAN. Kabul: Four civilians were killed and 11 others were wounded in the blast that targeted the bus of government employees near the Khairkhana area of Kabul this morning. The Kabul police have confirmed the blast and added that the death toll may rise.
According to the officials and eyewitnesses, the bus was carrying employees of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. Police said that the bomb attached beneath the bus went off when the employees were heading to work.
On Sunday afternoon, another bus of the ministry’s employees exploded in Kabul’s downtown area, leaving five women dead. As per the reports, a pregnant staff along with her 3-year-old child also died.
So far, no group, including the Taliban has yet claimed responsibility for the two blasts.
In a similar attack on the Baghlan University-students bus on Monday, one student and the driver were killed, and six lecturers were wounded.

Afghanistan is experiencing a nationwide spike in bombings, targeted killings and other violence as peace negotiations in Qatar between Taliban insurgents and the Afghan government stall.
The Islamic State group’s local affiliate has claimed responsibility for some of the violence, but many attacks go unclaimed, with the Afghan government putting the blame on the Taliban. The insurgents have denied responsibility for most of the attacks.
