INDIA: In a live discussion with Film & TV Critic Murtaza Ali Khan, Bollywood Actress Bidita Bag talked about her new film Mera Fauji Calling. The film, which also stars Sharman Joshi, is slated to release on 11th March, 2021. The film revolves around a family which is trying to come to terms with the loss of a family member in a war. Mera Fauji Calling also stars Mahi Soni, Zarina Wahab, Mugdha Godse and Shishir Sharma. The film is produced by Running Horses Films and Ovez Productions and presented by Jimmy Satish Asija.

The film’s trailer was launched by Rajnath Singh, the Defence Minster of India, on the eve of India’s Republic Day in an event that was attended by the film’s leads, Sharman Joshi and Bidita Bag, and director Aaryaan Saxena.
“I would like to congratulate everyone who has been part of this film. I believe this film will be a source of inspiration for youngsters and invoke feelings of patriotism,” Singh had said while addressing the press at the launch event. “This film is the story of a soldier and his family. A soldier’s family plays a big role in his bravery and I am sure people will like it. I would wish the best for the film,” he had added.
During the discussion with Khan, Bag talked about her preparation of the part and also shared her experience of shooting the film in the hitherto unexplored locations of Jharkhand. She also talked about her chemistry with Sharman Joshi in the film.
Mera Fauji Calling is one of the first major Bollywood releases post-lockdown and coincidentally the film will be vying with Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Roohi at the box-office. Bag extended her best wishes to the entire team of Roohi while embracing the prospects of healthy competition between different films at the box-office as a good omen to bring back the audiences to the cinemas.
