AUSTRALIA: In a strategic move aimed at propelling TOTIUM into its next growth phase, the corporate healthcare provider has appointed Marieke Bruinstroop as its new CEO. Bruinstroop, who joined TOTIUM as a consultant nine months ago, brings extensive experience from her previous roles as Global Chief People Officer at Guzman y Gomez and GenesisCare. Her appointment as CEO aligns with TOTIUM’s strategy to blend healthcare expertise with strong leadership in people management.
Founder and Executive Chair Dr. Simone Scovell, a former Medical Director at Qantas and IBM, will shift her focus to expansion plans for the rapidly growing business. Dr. Scovell expressed confidence in Bruinstroop’s ability to lead TOTIUM through its expansion. “While there’s a huge technology aspect to TOTIUM, the business is fundamentally about people, and it made sense to appoint a CEO who brings vast experience in both people management and healthcare along with an astute commercial mind to lead us through this expansion,” she stated.

TOTIUM is currently undergoing a capital raise to support its corporate healthcare offering, including ‘The Exec Check,’ a concierge service for executive healthcare, and ‘The Onsite Clinic,’ workplace health clinics offering GP services, vaccinations, health checks, and workshops.
Bruinstroop highlighted the unique leadership arrangement that allows her to focus on day-to-day operations while Dr. Scovell explores new business opportunities and healthcare partnerships across the medical, government, and corporate sectors. She praised Dr. Scovell’s commitment to innovation and growth through relationships.
With a client base that includes BHP, Qantas, Serco, and The Four Seasons, TOTIUM aims to roll out preventive healthcare solutions that are affordable and accessible to a broader workforce. Bruinstroop, in a LinkedIn post, expressed pride in joining TOTIUM and emphasized the company’s potential to create a healthier, happier, and more productive working population.
The transition marks a pivotal moment for TOTIUM as it continues to reimagine healthcare and deliver optimal outcomes for corporate partners, their employees, and the communities they serve. The company invites discussions with interested parties about supporting their people strategy in the evolving landscape of corporate healthcare.
