According to the Gothenburg Rescue Services, the landslide area’s worst-hit areas have dimensions of about 150 x 100 metres. However, the landslip has affected an area that is roughly 700 x 200 metres in total.

A total of about 700 x 200 metres, or the equivalent of 21 football fields, have been impacted by the landslide.

According to officials, fire personnel and a helicopter have assisted a number of people in being helped out of vehicles in the slide area.

Further landslides cannot be ruled out, according to rescue agencies. Although no one is believed to have committed a crime, police say they are looking into the possibility that a neighbouring construction site may have contributed to the landslide.

Over the previous few days, there has also been a lot of rain in the area. Several automobiles and one truck were reported to have fallen into landslide cracks, according to the Swedish news reports. However rescuers told public broadcaster that everyone had been helped.

To make sure nobody had been missed among the wreckage, specially trained dogs were stationed at the scene.
