UNITED KINGDOM: Russell Brand has strongly refuted “very serious criminal allegations” regarding his personal life in a video where he doesn’t detail the allegations but emphasises that all his relationships have always been consensual.
The actor and comedian answered communications he received from a major TV network and a newspaper in a video uploaded on YouTube and his social media platforms, “listing a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks” that he absolutely refutes.
Brand stated that the allegations are related to the time in his career when he was working “in the mainstream.” On Friday night, he told his 6.59 million subscribers, “As I have written about extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous at that time.”
“Now, during that time of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely always consensual. I was always transparent about that then, almost too transparent, and I am being transparent about it now as well,” Brand said.
“To see that transparency metastasised into something criminal, that I absolutely deny, makes me question: is there another agenda at play?,” he further stated.
Brand stated that the “very serious allegations” arrived amid “a litany of astonishing, rather baroque, attacks”, including those directed at his channel.
Elon Musk, reacted to Brand’s two-minute clip, saying, “Of course. They don’t like competition.”
Andrew Tate offered support to Brand by tweeting, “Welcome to the club.” Tate is currently awaiting trial on human trafficking charges, which he refutes, and he has previously asserted that he’s been the target of media attacks.
In his video, Brand strongly criticised what he described as “coordinated media onslaughts” in the past, particularly aimed at individuals like the contentious podcast host Joe Rogan after he disclosed his use of the antiparasitic drug ivermectin as a treatment for COVID-19 in 2021.
Brand stated that he had been labelled as a conspiracy theorist due to his viewpoints. The host of the Stay Free with Russell Brand podcast has previously seemed to advocate for “natural immunity” over vaccines.
Additionally, he previously stated that he was open-minded regarding the possibility of the 9/11 terror attacks being faked by the US government.
