INDIA: National Awardee director Vivek Agnihotri shared the Indian sign language trailer of his much-awaited film “The Vaccine War”. Yesterday, the filmmaker dropped the official trailer, which narrated the struggles of Indian scientists to develop the first indigenous vaccine for Covid 19.

After the humongous success of The Kashmir Files, Agnihotri is back with The Vaccine War. Earlier, he showcased the horror faced by the Kashmiri Hindus; this time, he will present how India battled with the pandemic.

Nana Patekar leads the team in Agnihotri’s The Vaccine War

Agnihotri shared the trailer by writing, “PRESENTING: India’s first-ever trailer dubbed in INDIAN SIGN LANGUAGE for deaf people. #TheVaccineWar is truly a people’s film. Releasing worldwide on 28 September 2023.”

The Vaccine War trailer introduced us to the phenomenal cast picked by Agnihotri. Being a man in the director’s chair and also one with a gripping writing prowess, his team led by Nana Patekar, Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen, Anupam Kher, and Kantara fame Sapthami Gowda appears to deliver an impacting performance.

Dubbed as “India’s first bio-science film”, the trailer showers the hardship faced by our scientists. There is a dialogue in the trailer which summarises the entire essence of the film. It goes as “Vaccine! Vaccine! There is life other than the vaccine, you know?” “There won’t be any life if there’s no vaccine!”

The trailer also shows the long looming debate of whether the COVID-19 virus was man-made or natural. It will be interesting to witness how the filmmaker unfolds this issue.

However, the selling point of the trailer was a round table discussion of scientists, which appears to be Agnihotri’s signature style of communicating with the audience via his characters. A similar scene was also shown in The Tashkent Files that created a tense as well as curiosity-piquing situation.

R Madhavan lauded The Vaccine War

In August, Vivek Agnihotri and Pallavi Joshi commenced the exclusive pre-release premiere of The Vaccine War under the “India for Humanity Tour” in the USA. The film bagged praise from the audience.

Surprisingly, Indian actor R Madhavan also attended the Washington DC screening event, where he applauded the film.

He wrote on X, “Just saw “THE VACCINE WAR” and totally blown out of my mind by the spectacular sacrifices and achievements of the Indian scientific community, which made India’s very first vaccine and kept the nation safe during the most challenging period, told by a Master Storyteller who makes you cheer, applaud, weep, and euphoric, all at the same time.”

“Stellar performances by the entire cast so beautifully depict the sacrifices and the sheer grit of our Indian scientists (ladies) aptly and impact-fully. Take a huge bow, team #TheVaccineWar .. the Indian scientific community owes your debt of gratitude as we to them..(national flag and folded hands emojis) go see the film in the theaters and make sure to buy a ticket for your superwoman helped you survive the lockdown..The domestic helps and the lovely women. @vivekagnihotri @AnupamPKher,” he concluded.
