“The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. We hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence,” the statement read. The cause of death is still unknown.

On Instagram, Angus Cloud shared a photo of his father two weeks prior along with the message, “miss u breh.” According to a source close to Cloud’s family, after returning from Ireland, where he had laid his father to rest, Cloud “had been battling severe suicidal thoughts.”

According to a report by ET, Angus Cloud was residing with family “as he tried to work through overcoming grief”.

Cloud had small roles in two films, “North Hollywood” and “The Line,” and he also made appearances in music videos for artists like Becky G, Karol G, and Juice WRLD.

His career skyrocketed following his portrayal of Fez, a high school drug dealer, in Euphoria. The Hollywood Reporter claims that the part made Cloud a breakout star, and the second season of the show developed his character.

In a 2019 interview with GQ, Cloud claimed that he had no actual ambitions to become a celebrity or even an actor. He used to work at a chicken and waffle restaurant when a casting agent abruptly stopped him one day, according to the magazine.

“I was confused, and I didn’t want to give her my phone number. I thought it was a scam,” Cloud told GQ.

After debuting in June 2019, Euphoria swiftly gained popularity, and by 2022, it was the most-tweeted-about TV show in the US for the decade.

The main character, portrayed by Zendaya, is a 17-year-old struggling with drug abuse, depicted on screen injecting morphine and taking the lethal narcotic fentanyl.

In 2022, Cloud addressed accusations in a TMZ interview that the show glorified drug use.

Javon “Wanna” Walton, Cloud’s co-star in Euphoria and on-screen adoptive brother known as Ashtray, posted on Instagram about Cloud’s death, saying, “Rest easy brother.”

On X (formerly Twitter), California congresswoman Barbara Lee expressed sorrow for the loss of “Oakland’s own.”

“His immense talent touched the lives of countless people. His work & legacy will forever live on and make Oakland proud,” she wrote.

Actress Kerry Washington also shared on the platform: “You will be deeply missed. Rest in power.”
