Boston issued an emergency warning, stating that street outreach teams would distribute water along their routes, warning of potential health risks and even fatalities.
City officials and weather forecasters in the United States are advising residents to avoid the heat because it can lead to illnesses, especially for those who work outside or engage in outdoor activities, elderly adults aged 65 and older, children, and individuals with chronic conditions.

Electric grid managers warned of the hot weather and urged the energy sector to put off unnecessary upkeep. Despite the intense heat, no drastic measures were taken by grid operators.
According to experts , the increasing frequency and severity of severe weather are symptoms of a global, human-driven climate change that is causing extremes, with heat waves projected to continue through August in many parts of the world.
