INDIA: Finally, the wait is over! The highly-awaited Housefull 5 of the successful comedy franchise bagged its official release date. The makers finalised the date of the fifth sequel to Housefull for Diwali next year.
Akshay shared a poster, the text of which read, “Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 5, directed by Tarun Mansukhani. India’s biggest comedy franchise is back. Diwali 2024.”
Further, the caption reads, “Get ready for five times the madness! Bringing to y’all Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 5. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani. See you in cinemas on Diwali 2024.”
As per the latest confirmation, Housefull 5 will be helmed by Tarun Mansukhani and bankrolled by Sajid Nadiadwala. Interestingly, Riteish Deshmukh will join the movie and keep the synchronisation intact.
Akshay and Ritiesh have remained a constant choice for all the Housefull movies. Sajid Khan added his directorial vision to first and second parts, while Sajid-Farhad directed the third part, and Farhad Samji joined the director’s chair in fourth part.
Housefull 4 featured Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda, and Pooja Hegde in lead roles. Sajid Khan resigned as the director of the last part of Housefull 4 after the #MeToo allegations back in 2018. However, this time, he will rejoin the team.
Talking about the first installment of Housefull, which was released in 2010, Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta, Boman Irani, Arjun Rampal, and the late Jiah Khan played pivotal roles.
The other two parts of the film also had an ensemble cast, including Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Lisa Haydon, Nargis Fakhri, Asin, the late Rishi Kapoor, and Zareen Khan, among others.
The Houseful series is the highest-grossing comedy film franchise in Bollywood.
