UNITED STATES: Hunter Biden, the son of president Joe Biden, has agreed to enter a plea deal that might save him a conviction on a charge involving a firearm in exchange for admitting guilt to two counts of willful income tax evasion, according to a court document filed on Tuesday.

The Justice Department stated that he is also charged of illegally possessing a weapon from roughly October 12 to October 23, 2018, while using and addicted to a controlled substance. He signed a pretrial diversion arrangement for that charge, an alternative to prosecution that occasionally lets offenders dodge prison time or a criminal conviction.
According to Hunter’s attorney, Christopher Clark, the five-year inquiry into Hunter has been completed. Clark went on to say that he knows Hunter believes it is vital for him to accept responsibility for the mistakes he did during a moment of upheaval and addiction in his life, and that he looks forward to continuing his recovery and moving ahead.
Hunter Biden denied tax troubles in 2020 and discussed substance misuse in a 2021 memoir. He was released from the U.S. Navy Reserve in 2014 after testing positive for cocaine, as per reports.
According to a spokesperson, The President and First Lady love and encourage their son as he rebuilds his life.
The White House declined further comments, stating that the President and First Lady are committed to helping him reclaim his life.
Hunter Biden is the first child of an active president to be charged, according to a specialist in presidential history. He cites scandals involving presidents’ families, such as George H.W. Bush’s son Neil and Richard Nixon’s brother Don saved by Howard Hughes.
