UNITED STATES: Hunter Biden, the son of president Joe Biden, has agreed to enter a plea deal that might save him a conviction on a charge involving a firearm in exchange for admitting guilt to two counts of willful income tax evasion, according to a court document filed on Tuesday.

He signed a pretrial diversion arrangement for that charge, an alternative to prosecution that occasionally lets offenders dodge prison time or a criminal conviction.

According to Hunter’s attorney, Christopher Clark, the five-year inquiry into Hunter has been completed. Clark went on to say that he knows Hunter believes it is vital for him to accept responsibility for the mistakes he did during a moment of upheaval and addiction in his life, and that he looks forward to continuing his recovery and moving ahead.

Hunter Biden denied tax troubles in 2020 and discussed substance misuse in a 2021 memoir. He was released from the U.S. Navy Reserve in 2014 after testing positive for cocaine, as per reports.
