UNITED STATES: The Chris Hemsworth-starrer Extraction 2, has been making buzz for quite some time now, as the first part did an extraordinary job at enticing the viewers to OTT screens.
Film buffs are eagerly waiting to witness the thrill on screen, and the sequel is all set for release. The first film Extraction was watched by 90 million people during its debut week, becoming one of the most streamed releases on Netflix.
Now, the highly anticipated sequel Extraction 2 will hit Netflix on June 16, 2023.
The Russo brothers bankrolled the Chris Hemsworth starrer Extraction 2. The high-octane Netflix film was made under the direction of Sam Hargrave. A graphic novel Ciudad by Ande Parks, Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, Fernando León González, and Eric Skillman serves as the foundation for this action-thriller franchise.
The synopsis of the sequel will showcase Tyler Rake, a highly trained commando who has survived a near-death experience, embarks on another hazardous operation to free a vicious gangster’s imprisoned family.
The first mission was assigned in Dhaka, and Tyler buckled up his shoes for his next mission. This time, he is tasked with freeing the family of a Georgian gangster from prison.
Talking about the cast of the film, Chris Hemsworth, Golshifteh Farahani, and Adam Bessa are returning as Tyler Rake, Nik Kahn, and Yaz Kahn, some of the new additions to get featured in this film.
Olga Kurylenko as Mia, Daniel Bernhardt as Konstantine, Tinatin Dalakishvili as Ketevan, and Idris Elba in a mysterious role joins the team as new members.
Extraction 2 began shooting from December 2021 until April 2022, whereas a few reshoots happened in November 2022 in Prague.
Hemsworth stated that there were numerous scrapes and bumps in an interview with the media portal.
Chris also shared some enlightening details regarding the difficult stunts he pulled off. He recalled initially shaking his head and asking, “Hang on, hang on, how is this even possible,” when Sam [the filmmaker] first pitched it to him.
