UNITED STATES: Dwayne Johnson announces his return to the “Fast & Furious” franchise, revealing that his long-standing beef with Vin Diesel has ended. The Rock took to Instagram to announce the news of his reconciliation with Diesel and his much-awaited return to Fast & Furious.

Johnson wrote on Instagram, saying, “Last summer, @vindiesel and I put all the past behind us… We’ll lead with brotherhood and resolve – and always take care of the franchise, characters & FANS that we love.”

Beaming in a selfie video shot from his Hawaiian home, Johnson stated he was thrilled that his lawman character Luke Hobbs would make a comeback in the upcoming film.

“I am 100% confirming that Hobbs is back in the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise,” he stated.

Johnson emphasised their personal bond, adding that he and Vin have been like brothers for years and that their plans are far broader than themselves, and that those larger plans are the north star.

The Black Adam star emphasised that their shared vision for the franchise’s future served as their compass as they made this important choice. The two actors’ enmity had been extensively publicised, particularly throughout the production of 2017’s “The Fate of the Furious”.

Johnson’s character, Hobbs, had been out of the main series since then and had only appeared in the 2019 spin-off “Hobbs & Shaw” along with Jason Statham, while Diesel remained a key figure in the franchise as Dom Toretto.

In December 2021, the actor politely turned down Diesel’s request to join the franchise, saying there was no likelihood of his return. But the most recent news reveals a change of heart for Johnson, highlighting the strength of their bond and their will to get past their disagreements.

Fans first got a glimpse of the reconciliation when Hobbs made a surprise return in the post-credits scene in the most recent film, “Fast X.” In the sequence, Jason Momoa plays the villain Dante Reyes, who confronts Hobbs in order to exact revenge for the passing of his father.

Audiences are anxiously anticipating the upcoming film as a result of the passionate discussion that sets the stage for an epic clash between the two.

Johnson acknowledged that it was difficult to keep the reconciliation a secret, but it was immensely satisfying to see the fans’ stunned faces when they saw the post-credits scene.

He compared it to a “rock concert” and guaranteed an epic clash when Hobbs and Dante ultimately met on film.

“It’s not even unfinished business between Dante. It’s business about to pick up…Wait ’till you see what happens when Dante and Hobbs collide,” Johnson said.

Universal Studios, the company that created the Fast & Furious series, has not yet made a formal announcement on the reconciliation between Johnson and Diesel.
