UKRAINE/RUSSIA: Residents of Kherson, a crucial city in southern Ukraine, are storing up on food and water ahead of a 56-hour curfew that is set to start on Friday evening. Many people have already slept in their clothes or gone to shelters due to the Russian attack’s ferocity. The curfew and the city’s anticipated closure are expected to start on Friday evening.

The violence in Kherson has increased significantly this week, with 23 people murdered by Russian strikes in the area on Wednesday, including an attack on a grocery that resulted in the deaths of eight people. This is due to Ukrainian forces intensifying their shelling of Russian positions, which has caused a noticeable upsurge in the violence.

The long-awaited Ukrainian spring counteroffensive is expected to take place at some point in the future, according to growing rumours. A Ukranian experienced difficulty falling asleep last night due to shelling and Russian artillery bombardment. He had been trying to sleep after 1 am.

A curfew was set by the authorities for them to observe starting tomorrow night. Currently, the neighbourhood is peaceful, and they are leaving the house to get bread and water. A resident of the city centre, owns a bar and is employed by the technical university. Before the war, she owned a bar and heard a lot of bombing. When it began at 10 pm, she spent time in the basement. Now that the city is shut down, she and her spouse are alone and have adequate food and water.

The majority of people have decided to stay at home due to the curfew, despite the fact that it doesn’t begin until tomorrow night. An 89-year-old woman’s death was reported the previous evening, but no other casualties have been reported.

The curfew and city lockdown was created to prevent “saboteurs” from attacking Russian strongholds on the opposite side of the Dnipro River. It is a counter-sabotage tactic and allows Ukrainian military forces to operate without restriction if people are inside their homes.
