UKRAINE: The White House did not advise the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on a very sensitive US intelligence document leak that had sparked a lot of curiosity throughout the world in April.

Zelenskyy mentioned in a newspaper report, “I did not receive information from the White House or the Pentagon beforehand,” adding, “It is not beneficial to the reputation of the White House, and I believe it is not beneficial to the reputation of the United States.”

The Pentagon leaks that became public in April damaged connections with alliances all around the world by providing an overview in time of a wide range of highly classified information, including details regarding Israel’s Mossad spy agency and the current state of Ukraine’s air defences. The “Secret” and “Top Secret” documents first surfaced on social media channels, beginning with 4chan and Discord.

The handing out of those documents in a forum on Discord, a social media site that first gained prominence as a hangout for gamers, has been investigated by a member of the US Air National Guard. He still refuses to acknowledge his guilt.

According to some papers from February, Ukraine’s air defences might be completely out of missiles and ammunition from the Soviet era in just a couple of weeks. The Ukrainian President mentions, “For us, anything that informs our enemy in advance in one way or another is definitely a plus.”

A spokesperson for the White House national security council in answering and opining on Zelenskyy’s comments mentioned, “We are in constant communication with our Ukrainian counterparts about a range of issues, including the unauthorised disclosures, but we aren’t going to get into the details of those private discussions.”
