UNITED STATES: On Thursday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arrested a 21-year-old member of the Massachusetts Air National Guard, in light of the association with the leak of highly classified documents. The document has secrets of a wide range of national security deets that also incorporated a range of United States-conducted surveillance on Russia.

Airman Jack Teixeira’s intentions were monitored by the FBI, who had been amalgamating data and the Discord group essentials, where he had been sharing all the documents.

His stepfather, Thomas P Dufault, mentioned, “If things continue the way they are currently, he needs to hire a lawyer. I’m sure the feds will show up soon.”

Lloyd J Austin III, Defense Secretary, was equipped with the details of what happened on the morning of April 6. Austin had a difficult time clarifying why the leaks were known to the Defense Department after it was visible on Discord.

Austin said, “Well, they were on the internet somewhere. We don’t know who had access at that time or where specifically. Right now, we simply don’t know.”

The arrest was announced by Attorney General Merrick B. Garland in Washington in a brief statement that highlighted that Airman Teixeira would be arraigned in Massachusetts at a Federal district court.

Teixeira mentioned that he was arrested in light of the “unauthorized removal, retention and transmission of classified national defence information.”

Federal investigators claimed that Airman First Class Jack Douglas Teixeira posted batches of sensitive intelligence to an online gaming chat group called “Thug Shaker Central”, leading to his arrest on accusations of disclosing classified information.

A half-dozen FBI agents entered the North Dighton home of Airman Teixeira’s mother on Thursday afternoon, as per reports. A twin-engine federal surveillance plane was hovering above the property.

The arrest augmented concerns about why such a young enlisted airman had access to such a wide variety of potentially vulnerable information, why adequate measures had not been put in place following previous leaks, and why a young man would risk his freedom to disclose information about the Ukrainian conflict with a group of companions he met on a video game social media site.
