AUSTRALIA: During an early morning shift break on Friday, a New South Wales paramedic gets fatally stabbed at McDonald’s in the southwest region of Sydney. According to the police, the 29-year-old stabbed man was a father, and he was at that time, eating at the fast food restaurant in Campbelltown with a colleague. Before 5:30 am, his colleague immediately called the police.

Evidence is being compiled by the detectives through CCTV footage. The accused has a minor criminal record, according to the deputy police commissioner, Mal Lanyon.

He said, “On arrival, police were confronted by a 21-year-old man from Raby who was armed with a knife to assist the ambulance paramedic, police were forced to use a taser. He has been taken to the Campbelltown police station, where he is currently assisting police. The thoughts and deepest sympathies of the entire NSW police are with the families of that officer and the entire ambulance family,” he added.

Police officers arrived and shot the 21-year-old man who was carrying a gun as the people were trying to assist the wounded paramedic. The accused remained in custody on Friday afternoon with no charges yet. The fatally injured paramedic was then taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he later died. His family has requested that we not reveal the victim’s name to the public.

NSW ambulance commissioner, Dominic Morgan, stated that he wanted to work as a paramedic for a long time. He said, “He wanted nothing more than to serve his community,” adding, “He’d been with us for a relatively short period, and had recently found out that he was being posted back to south-west Sydney. I’m told he was just so pleased that he was going to be able to stay here with his family, bring up his children.”

The accused, as per the police, might have been driving in a blue Honda Jazzin the areas of Ingleburn and Campbelltown in the pristine hours of Friday. Susan Pearce, the NSW health secretary, got emotional when he thanked the police and health workers for trying to save the young man’s life. She said, “I’d like to extend my deepest condolences to the loved ones, the wife, and the family of our paramedic.”
