INDIA. Delhi: Ahead of bagging the national party tab for his Aam Aadmi Party, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal planned a meeting with Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav in Delhi today. Reportedly, the opposition parties are coming together to take on the BJP in the national election next year.
Bihar CM and Tejashwi Yadav recently finished their meeting with Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and party leader Rahul Gandhi.
As per reports, it is the first formal meeting of the top leaders of Congress and the Janata Dal (United), or JD(U), for defeating the big ruling party in the upcoming 2024 election. Talking about the topic of discussion in the meeting, Yadav and Kumar discussed the current political scenario and measures to vanquish the saffron party. Moreover, Kumar is said to meet with various other top leaders, including Sharad Pawar, Arvind Kejriwal, D. Raja, Sitaram Yechury, and Akhilesh Yadav.
Meanwhile, Kejriwal criticized the ruling party and claimed, “The country is going through a very difficult time. I have said many times that probably the most corrupt government in the country is today since independence.”
“Extremely important for all the opposition parties to unite and change the current government in power,” he added.
Hailing Nitish Kumar’s governance, the AAP convener said, “Nitish ji is making efforts towards uniting everyone, including the opposition parties.”
Kejriwal also shared pictures from their meeting on Twitter and wrote: “Got the opportunity to felicitate the Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri @NitishKumar ji and Deputy Chief Minister, Shri @yadavtejashwi ji today. The present political situation of the country was discussed in detail.”
On the other hand, when Gandhi talked about the meeting he had with his counterparts, he said, “We held a historic meeting here. A lot of issues were discussed and we decided that we would unite all parties and fight the upcoming elections in a united manner. We have made this decision, and all of us will work for this.”
