RUSSIA: Vladlen Tatarsky, a pro-war blogger who was killed in a cafe bombing that Moscow has blamed on Ukraine, was buried on Saturday.
Among the mourners was the leader of Russia’s Wagner private militia group, Darya Trepova, who was accused of terrorist charges and could face up to 20 years in prison.
Some supporters put the letters Z and V on their clothing as a representation of Moscow’s attack on Ukraine. Priests in white robes presided over a funeral service at the cemetery while carrying lit candles. Near Tatarsky’s coffin, awards were placed.
Tatarsky, a well-known blogger, was given military honours at his funeral at Moscow’s Troyekurovskoye cemetery due to his previous involvement in military operations in eastern Ukraine.
He was critical of Russia’s military establishment but supported Moscow’s activities in Ukraine and said they should be pushed more vehemently.

According to Russian authorities, the strike was planned by Ukraine with assistance from supporters of imprisoned critic Alexey Navalny. Kiev has blamed it on Russia’s political strife.
He was connected to the leader of the Wagner organisation, Yevgeny Prigozhin, who praised him for reporting visits to the front lines in Ukraine.
Vladlen Tatarsky is credited with helping to move towards victory and destroy the enemy in Ukraine and is renowned for his scathing critiques of the leadership in Russia.
The Wagner group has been leading efforts to take Bakhmut city.
