INDIA: On March 22, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked about how he wanted the country to use 6G spectrum Internet. This comes only six months after the launch of 5G internet services in India. During the launch event of the Bharat 6G vision document, PM Modi stated that the 6G test bed had also been launched, marking a significant development in India’s technological industry.

The Technological Innovation Group on 6G (TIG-6G), which was founded in November 2021, created the Bharat 6G vision, paper.

It consists of members from various ministries, research and development institutions, academia, standardisation bodies, telecom service providers, and industry. The goal of the group is to come up with a plan for putting 6G into use in India.

On a platform provided by the 6G test bed, academic institutions, businesses, start-ups, MSMEs, and industry will be able to test and evaluate new ICT solutions.

So, the country will be able to come up with new ideas, grow its capacity, and learn new technologies faster.

If the Bharat 6G vision document’s plan is implemented as expected, 6G internet services can be launched in India by the second or third quarter of 2024.

This means that India will move from 5G to 6G services in just two years.

Call Before You Dig (CBuD), which would link excavators and asset owners through SMS/email notifications and click-to-call, was also introduced by PM Modi at the same ceremony.

This will make sure that underground assets are safe and that excavations are done as planned all over the country.

The Bharat 6G vision document and the launch of the 6G test bed mark significant progress in India’s technological advancement.

The implementation of 6G internet services will be a significant milestone for the country and pave the way for a faster adaptation of technology across India.
