INDIA: Telugu actor Ram Charan, who recently made India proud at the Oscars, visited home minister Amit Shah along with actor-father Chiranjeevi in Delhi.
The passionate Telugu industry created history at the 95th Academy Awards by producing an exceptional movie like RRR. It became the first Indian production to win an Oscar in the original song category.
Ram Charan and megastar Chiranjeevi greeted the Home Minister with a huge floral bouquet and a traditional red and golden silk stole.
The Home minister shared a glimpse of the proud moment and wrote, “Delighted meeting Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan — two legends of Indian cinema. The Telugu film industry has significantly influenced India’s culture and economy. Have congratulate Ram Charan on the Oscar win for the Naatu Naatu song and the phenomenal success of RRR.”
On the other hand, the star of the moment opted to his Twitter account and wrote, “Truly an honor to meet our honorable home minister Amit Shah ji… Thank you, sir, for appreciating the efforts of @RRRMovie.”
Ram Charan is seen presenting a bouquet to Amit Shah while wearing a black gentleman’s suit, whereas father Chiranjeevi looked dapper in a monochrome shirt and pants, standing beside him.
The actor returned to Delhi after attending the Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles with his pregnant wife Upasana. The whole RRR team—director SS Rajamouli, co-star Jr. NTR, composer MM Keeravani, and lyricist Chandrabose—flew overseas to witness the grand success.
Talking about the Oscar ceremony, Ram Charan was dressed in an all-black outfit, whereas his wife, Upasana Konidela, donned a cream designer saree, keeping her transitions intact. Ram Charan is about to become a father. Thus, during an interview, he called his would-be child a major source of luck.
The actor released a statement after his film bagged the Oscars, in which he wrote, “RRR is and will always remain the most special film of our lives and Indian cinema history. I can’t thank everyone for manifesting the Oscar award. It still feels like I’m living in a dream.”
