As per rumours, the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will host the 16th season of the Tata IPL. The announcement will be made following the conclusion of the ongoing second Test in Delhi.

The Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants were two new teams that made IPL 2022 larger. By reaching the playoffs in their first season, both teams did well to have an effect.

Sam Curran of England, who was purchased by the Punjab Kings at a recent auction for Rs 18.5 crore, broke the record for the most expensive player ever.

Cameron Green, an Australian cricketer, joined the Mumbai Indians for Rs 17.50 crore, Ben Stokes, the Test captain of England, joined the Chennai Super Kings for Rs 16.25 crore, and Nicholas Pooran, a West Indies wicketkeeper-batsman, joined the Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 16 crore.

Harry Brook, the England opener, was the sixth player to go after receiving a significant offer. He signed with Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 13.25 crore.

According to experts, the 2023 player auction might boost the IPL’s brand value for the following season.

According to Brand Finance, a London-based brand assessment company, the IPL’s brand worth nearly doubled from $4.7 billion in 2021 to $8.4 billion in 2022.

Ajimon Francis, MD, Brand Finance India, claimed that this was driven by the arrival of two new teams in 2022 and the June media rights auction for the 2023–27 media cycle.
