Currently, the company operates 200 experience centres, but with the expansion, 80% of customers will be within 20 km of a centre by March. At a virtual product launch event on Thursday, Ola Electric founder and CEO Bhavish Aggarwal shared the company’s plans for growth.
He revealed that Ola Electric is launching a lower variant of its electric scooter model S1, priced at Rs 99,999 based on customer feedback. The S1 model, with a battery capacity of 2 kWh and a range of 91 km, has a top speed of 90 km per hour.
In addition to the new S1 variant, the company is launching a full line-up to its S1 Air model, which comes in three different battery capacities, starting at Rs 84,999. The S1 Air model, with a 2 kWh battery capacity, has a range of 85 km and a top speed of 85 kmph.
Meanwhile, the 3 kWh and 4 kWh variants have a range of 125 km and 165 km, respectively, and are priced at Rs 99,999 and Rs 1,09,999, respectively. Customers who had previously booked the 2.5 kWh variant of the S1 Air will receive a free upgrade to the 3 kWh option.
Deliveries of the S1 Air line-up will start in July, after a three-month delay to accommodate the new variants. At the launch event, Ola Electric offered a sneak peek of its upcoming electric bike, but the CEO did not share any details about the product.
The company’s plans to open 500 experience centres and launch a range of electric scooters and bikes highlight its commitment to providing sustainable mobility solutions in India.
As the world moves towards clean energy, Ola Electric is positioning itself at the forefront of the transition, providing customers with the latest technology and innovative products.
