INDIA: The IGN-7 helmet, designed and manufactured by Ignyte, an Indian start-up owned by equipment and gear manufacturer Steelbird, has received the international standard ECE certification.
It is common knowledge that motorcycle equipment and gear are expensive, even more so for the current crop of high-end, cutting-edge technology that keeps riders safe while also making them feel comfortable.
Multiple brands in the industry have designed gear pieces that are styled to form fashion statements.
With its most recent helmet, the IGN-7, Indian start-up Ignyte intends to establish a reputation of its own by building a helmet full of features but affordable.
Steelbird is well-liked in the country for its affordable yet efficient riding gear, and the same holds for its most recent helmet, the Ignyte IGN-7.
The IGN-7 is the first helmet ever produced in India to receive the most recent ECE 22.06 certification. Additionally, it has the DOT FMVSS No. 218 certification and the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification, making it the first triple-homologated helmet in India.
There are three sizes available for the Ignyte IGN-7: M, L, and XL. The numerous vents on the helmet’s exterior are said to be effectively channelled through the NACA air-flow system built into the helmet.
Additionally, the helmet’s nine EPS components protect up to 18 impact points. An ECE-certified visor’s Pinlock 70 anti-fog lens sets a higher standard for quality.
For more convenience, the IGN-7 has a nose guard, a high-frequency Thermo foam wind deflector, a retractable sun visor, and a double D-ring fastening system.
The best part is that Ignyte has managed to keep the IGN-7’s price very low, at just Rs 6,199, or about USD 77.
In a market as price sensitive as India, where safety and protection typically take a back seat, the low price is beneficial. The availability of products like the Ignyte IGN-7 is hoped to encourage more Indian motorcycle riders to prioritise safety.
