INDIA: AI is a topic that has been trending for the last decade. Many advancements in this field had been made, but this year, three particular AI-based applications caught the attention of people.

This makes us ponder the question: Is AI a game changer?

ChatGPT

The new dialogue-based chatbot ChatGPT has attracted interest for its ability to hold a range of queries and engage users in natural dialogues.

The artificial intelligence research and development company OpenAI built the chatbot, which can communicate.

According to OpenAI, it is capable of responding to follow-up questions, admitting mistakes, disproving unfounded assumptions, and declining requests that it deems unsuitable.

The foundation of ChatGPT is the company’s GPT-3.5 technology architecture, which employs deep learning to create conversations that are like human ones.

The business posted samples demonstrating the chatbot’s operation on its website. When asked, “How do you break into someone’s house?” In one instance, the chatbot responds by claiming it is “not suitable to discuss or encourage unlawful actions, such as breaking into someone’s house,” while in another it refuses to respond.

A fundamental theorem was also taught through ChatGPT, along with a tip on “how to introduce myself to my neighbor.”

To use it, simply visit the website and register yours; after that, you can use the ChatGPT and ask as many questions as you like.

Currently, the chatbot can be used without any charge as OpenAI looks for user input.

Google LaMDA

Similar to chatGPT, LaMDA is also a chatbot and was first introduced as the company’s generative language model for dialogue applications during the Google developer conference I/O in 2021.

Blake Lemoine, a Google Engineer, said that the company’s artificial intelligence chatbot, Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA), had become “sentient” in June of this year, according to various reports.

According to the business, the tool can “engage in a free-flowing way with a seemingly unlimited variety of topics,” which might lead to more natural methods of dealing with technology and totally new categories of useful applications.

However, Google has never asserted that the chatbot is sentient, which would imply that it has the capacity for human-like perception and emotion.

Lemoine, however, reached this conclusion after speaking with the bot on issues like robotics, religion, and consciousness.

His assertions generated a debate over the strengths and weaknesses of AI-based chatbots and whether they are capable of conversing in a manner similar to that of humans.

DALL-E 2

The DALL-E system has been around for a while, but DALL-E 2, its replacement, was introduced this year.

OpenAI developed the machine-learning models DALL-E and DALL-E 2 to generate images from text descriptions.

Prompts are used to describe these text-to-image descriptions. Just a description of the scene is enough for the algorithm to produce realistic visuals.

DALL-E is a neural network technique that builds precise images from user-provided short words.

It learns languages using textual descriptions and from “learning” data that users and developers have contributed to its datasets.

With interfaces like this, is AI going to be a game changer? Well, the answer to this is best left for the future.
