QATAR: In a crucial World Cup Group E match on Sunday, Germany grabbed a 1-1 draw against Spain thanks to a late goal from substitute Niclas Fullkrug.

Alvaro Morata’s goal for Spain after coming on early in the second half made it a memorable night for the replacements.

After that, Germany struck back through Fullkrug, who slammed in from close range to give the match a dramatic conclusion.

Fullkrug made his mark to keep Germany’s hopes of making it to the Round of 16 alive. Fullkrug has also been in superb form for SV Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga.

Andrej Kramaric scored two goals to secure a 4-1 victory over Canada on Sunday. Croatia overcame an early setback before stepping up their game at the World Cup.

This victory moved them one point away from the group of 16 and ended their opponents’ chances of reaching the knockout stage.

Alphonso Davies’ powerful header in only 68 seconds put the 2018 runners-up behind at the Khalifa International Stadium. However, two goals late in the first half turned around a potentially bleak evening.
