QATAR: On Sunday, Google released an animated doodle to commemorate the start of the FIFA World Cup 2022, which will be hosted by Qatar.
The animated doodle shows animated boots kicking a football. If the user clicks on the doodle, they will be taken to a page with all of the information about the massive sporting event.
For those who want to participate personally, the doodle also offers an online game. On their devices, users must Google “World Cup Qatar 2022” to play the multiplayer online game against other fans.
To help their favourite team score the most goals, people from all over the world can collaborate. The Google Doodle page states that once a real-life match is scheduled for the World Cup, it will appear in the game menu.
To score the most virtual goals, supporters must choose the game and club they wish to support. The virtual game will conclude and declare a winner when the final buzzer sounds in the actual match.
A major sporting event that takes place every four years attracts football fans from all over the world. This year’s World Cup is being held in the Middle East for the first time.
Over the next month, a series of elimination matches involving players from the national teams of 32 countries will take place. On December 18, one national team will be crowned World Cup champion for 2022.
Ecuador will face Qatar in the opening game at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor.
The World Cup opening ceremony will be held at Al Bayt Stadium before Qatar’s first game against Ecuador.
