INDIA: Fans of the horror comedy film Stree are in for a surprise as Rajkummar Rao has recently confirmed its sequel, and has shared that he will begin shooting for Stree 2 soon. Reportedly, the previous main leads Rajkumar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor will be in the movie. Previously, Shraddha Kapoor, who featured in Bhediya’s song Thumkeshwari, gave a strong hint of Stree’s comeback.
In a recent interview, Rao said, “I believe they (the producers) would have to make that choice. Hopefully, Stree 2 will come soon, and yeah, absolutely, there is a potential of having this horror world realized.”
Rao, without sharing any details about the release and post-production of the movie, the actor went on saying, “Hopefully soon.”
Post this confirmation; Shraddha Kapoor shared a BTS video of her in a social media post. “It’s so exciting for me because we are going to start Stree 2 very very soon,” the post read.
As per reports, Stree 2 will begin pre-production after the release of Amar Kaushik’s Bhediya in November. Varun Dhawan, who tried his hands in this new horror genre, is also excited to make a cameo in Stree 2. The plot of Bhediya is said to be related to Stree.
Rajkummar Rao is now ready with his next release Monica, O My Darling. The film stars Radhika Apte and Huma Qureshi in lead roles. The movie is slated to release on November 11.
