INDIA: Bengaluru-bound IndiGo airlines flight number 6E-2131, flying from Delhi to Bangalore, landed immediately after observing fire sparks from the starboard-side engine. The sparks were noticed in Bengaluru-bound IndiGo airlines during the runway takeoff. More than 180 people boarded the flight during the night of Oct 28, when the incident took place.
During the current state of emergency, Delhi’s IGI airport was put on high alert. According to the statement given by a passenger aboard the Bengaluru IndiGo flight confirmed that the sparks emerged on the right engine when the plane was about to take off.
However, the passenger added, “The crew got active and helped everyone to settle down and not panic. It took time to deplane, but on the whole, it was handled alright. It was a full flight.” Some passengers have even shot the scary scene on their phones and uploaded it to their social media handles. This occurred around 10:45 PM, leaving every passenger fretting.
The entire incident, however, was brought into control, but the Ministry of Civil Aviation has ordered officials to submit a complete report briefing about the incident after a vivid investigation. The official Twitter handle of the ministry wrote, “Concerned officials at @DGCAIndia have been directed to look into this and furnish a report at the earliest.”
IndiGo issued an official statement following the event, stating, “An aircraft operating flight 6E2131 from Delhi to Bangalore encountered an engine stall during the takeoff roll. The takeoff was canceled, and the aircraft returned to the bay safely. All passengers will be accommodated on a different aircraft. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
Incidents like this happen in the operational industry, but passengers’ safety is given priority over any other circumstances. However, under the supervision of the pilot, a major disastrous incident is prevented. Moreover, further investigation is under process to find out the flaws behind the incident.
