INDIA: The 6th Rabindranath Tagore Literary Prize ceremony held its grand finale today, transcending the realms of literature and society to honor exceptional individuals. Peter Bundalo, the esteemed Founder of the Tagore Literary Prize, presided over the event in Copenhagen, paying tribute to the enduring legacy of Rabindranath Tagore. The event, hosted at the India International Centre in New Delhi, united literary luminaries, esteemed personalities, and enthusiasts to celebrate the profound influence of literature and social endeavors on society.
In a momentous occasion, the prestigious Tagore Prize for Social Achievement 2023 was bestowed upon Abhijit Banerjee, the Nobel Prize laureate for Economics. His outstanding contributions to societal welfare earned him this coveted award, highlighting the Prize’s commitment to recognizing impactful work beyond the literary world.
Simultaneously, the Rabindranath Tagore Literary Prize was presented to Sukrita Paul Kumar, a distinguished Poet, Critic, and Translator. Her literary brilliance, which transcends boundaries and cultures, resonated with the spirit of the award that celebrates the universality of storytelling.
