NIGERIA. Kaduna State: About 500 orphans and less privileged children have received donations of 2,000 educational resources in Kaduna South local government area in North-Western Nigeria.
The gesture, which came from the Arewa Child Protection Foundation, is aimed at enhancing educational standards in the region.
The Founder of Arewa Child Protection Foundation, Comrade Monday Macquega during the distribution of the items, stated that the Foundation plan is to go around the Northern states to help the less privileged and orphans towards attaining their educational careers.
He added that the Foundation also picked some students from the Kurmin Mashi community of Kaduna South local government area to be beneficiaries of the programme.

Kaduna State Commissioner for Education, Malam Shehu Muhammad Makarfi, commended the Foundation for coming up with the idea of supporting the government’s efforts towards accomplishing girl child education.
Makarfi stated that the state government had made child education mandatory in all the local government areas of the state.
Also speaking during the distribution of the items, the Village Head of Hayin Danmani, Alhaji Abba Abdullahi, appreciated the Foundation for selecting his community as the pioneer beneficiary of the project.
Abdullah also praised the Kaduna state government for erecting more than 60 extra classrooms in his community.
