4 Teachers Killed In Bus Explosion In Parwan, Afghanistan

A teacher and religious scholar was killed in the same province weeks ago.

AFGHANISTAN. Parwan. 4 teachers were killed and 13 others were wounded when a blast targeted a university bus in Parwan province this afternoon, officials say.  

The bus was carrying lecturers of Alberoni University in the Bagram district of Parwan on Saturday afternoon, according to health officials.

The blast happened in Rabat area in the Bagram district at around 3:15 p.m, according to Bagram police. Dr. Qasim Sangin, chief medical officer at Parwan Hospital, said 13 more were wounded in the explosion, adding that the dean of Alberoni university was also among the wounded teachers.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the blast which killed 4 teachers and wounded others.

A week ago, the Head of Religious Scholars  Council of Parwan who was also a teacher was shot dead near his school, and his son was wounded.

The attacks on schools, universities, and public figures continue as hopes for reaching a peace settlement are slimming.

The British Newsletter ‘The Sun’ has recently reported that some countries including the US will send some troops back to Kabul to protect their embassies. Australian Embassy was closed on Friday due to security reasons.

The peace talks have stalled in mid of surge in violence. The UN-Led expected peace conference which was said to be a destiny-making conference in bringing peace to Afghanistan failed to be held.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has said it’s ready to host a peace conference in its country.

Recently thirteen people were killed and over 40 were wounded in roadside bomb blasts in Parwan provinces of Afghanistan. In another separate incident, two civilians were killed in a roadside bomb blast. Nine people were wounded in the same blast that targeted a bus in the Pul-e-Matak area in Parwan province.
