UNITED STATES: Google regularly publishes ‘publishing guidelines’ for content. Although every new update improves the search algorithm, it becomes difficult for site managers to follow constantly evolving rules. The recent Google Search Update highlights the value of original content and the potential for it to perform better in search results.

Website owners frequently put too much emphasis on content that contains lots of keywords. They believe that content that is optimised for search engines will perform better. The tech giant, however, wants to reverse this tendency of producing content for crawlers and instead showcase original content that responds to user queries.

Google introduce new changes to get unique content

Before publishing a topic, website owners must ask themselves a comprehensive list of questions that is included in the official Google post. As always, you must consider whether your efforts are intended to merely boost your ranking and increase traffic or to benefit your readers.

Websites that heavily rely on tools and automation to create content will also need to adjust their approach. Google will blacklist websites and web pages using such techniques.

Additionally, Google will de-rank articles that simply summarise pre-existing information without adding any new information. Similar to this, Google will penalise content that claims to provide the answer to a question that has none. For instance, putting forward a release date for a movie, TV show, or product that hasn’t been confirmed in the first place.

The upgrade will start phasing out next week and take two weeks to complete. It is recommended to eliminate less important content from your website if it is only there for search engines. According to the company, eliminating useless content may improve the rankings of your other content.

The new upgrade will initially affect English-language websites, and Google expects to eventually expand to other languages. You should post, edit, and remove content from your website in accordance with Google’s standards if you don’t want to face the wrath of the new update. A prior Google update focused on product review content and how to enhance it.
