UNITED STATES: Netflix’s action-thriller, The Gray Man, debuted with a bang and has since captivated audiences with high-octane performances from the outstanding star cast. Aside from every other character, Dhanush’s Lone Wolf persona boasts a sizable fan base among viewers.
The Gray Man chronicles the life of a Sierra Six, focusing on the storyline in which his former colleagues are on the hunt for him. The Russo Brothers directorial is based on Mark Greaney’s novel of the same name, published in 2009. The book series already has 11 parts in its repertory, with a 12th expected to be published in 2023.
Adapting a prominent subject matter is not the only thing that makes the film stand out. The action-thriller is considered to be Netflix’s most expensive film, with a budget of $200 million. Before the film’s July 22 OTT debut, it was released in theatres on July 15.
The Lone Wolf steals the show with minimal screen time
The action-thriller starred several talented Hollywood actors and the well-known Indian actor Dhanush in a pivotal role. In the film’s second half, the actor’s persona of Avik San, aka the Lone Wolf, steals the spotlight from every character.
The Lone Wolf is hired to hunt Sierra Six, which results in action-packed encounters between the outstanding stars. Avik San arrives for a lesser screen time yet steals the show. Most viewers were intrigued by the character’s values and ethics. Besides his morals, the character also single-handedly defeated Ryan Gosling and Ana de Armas’ personas, which again enthralled the audiences.
Recently Netflix announced a sequel and spinoff to the action-thriller with Russo Brother and Ryan Gosling set to return. Though the details of the spinoff are yet to be revealed, it would be a perfect treat for the audience if Dhanush’s character got its feature. Analysing the impact of Lone Wolf, the character is anticipated to return for the sequel and spinoff.
The Gray Man starred Ryan Gosling in the titular role. Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Dhanush, Rege-Jean Page, Jessica Henwick, Alfre Woodard, Billy Bob Thorton, and Julia Butters also joined the ensemble in pivotal roles.
After Avengers: End Game and the MCU journey, The Gray Man emerged as the Russo Brothers’ most anticipated project. The action-thriller has received much attention due to the appearances of Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Dhanush. The first look of the Indian star in action has mostly enthralled the audiences.
