UKRAINE: Local authorities claim that the Russian military struck Odesa, a port city in southern Ukraine, early this morning.

Serhiy Bratchuk, the chief of the military administration for the area, promised to provide further information in a Telegram post just after six this morning.

“Odesa missile attack using strategic aircraft,” he said.

Precisely 12 hours after Moscow and Kyiv agreed to an agreement allowing controlled grain exports from southern Ukrainian ports, Russia launched cruise missile attacks at Odesa on Saturday.

Zelenskyy referred to the assault as blatant “barbarism,” demonstrating that Moscow could not be trusted to carry out the agreement.

Ukrainian export shipments would pass through Odesa.

Reports state that after Ukrainian troops shelled the region, a large fire started at oil storage in the Budyonnovsky neighbourhood of the Russian-backed Donetsk People’sPeople’s Republic in eastern Ukraine.

The fire, which was tens of metres high, has not yet been linked to any deaths or injuries, according to a Russian news source on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Russian air attacks have intensified in the Donetsk region. According to the officials, the missiles have hit the cities of Bakhmut, Kramatorsk, Chasiv Yar, Sloviansk and Kostyantynivka, and surrounding villages.

Rescuers continue to search under the rubble for three more survivors in an arts and leisure centre in Chuhuiv, 40km (25 miles) southeast of Kharkiv, after at least ten rockets were fired at the town by Russian troops.

Earlier, Moldova Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita had said that she is “very worried” that Russia will invade her country next while warning that no country is safe from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Analysts believe that Kremlin is trying to create a land bridge between Russian-occupied territory in eastern Ukraine and Transnistria – an unrecognised breakaway region supported by Russia – to cut Ukraine off from the Black Sea, the report said.
