UNITED STATES: Marvel released the updates and first look at the upcoming animated series on Disney+ at San Diego Comic-Con. The animated ventures included Spider-Man: Freshman Year, X-Men ’97, I am Groot, and What If…? season 2.

The San Diego comic con marked MCU’s animated feature on its panel. The announced animated ventures shed light on intriguing series loaded into Marvel’s repertoire.

The studio showcased the upcoming series’ new look and concept art

Among all the animated features, Spider-Man: Freshman Year stood out as the highlight. The concept art for Spider-Man’s outfit and characters from his rogues’ gallery was also revealed at the panel.

Jeff Tramell functioned as executive producer and penned down the story for the series. The concept art of Norman Osborn, Doctor Octopus, Doctor Strange, and Daredevil served as a hype factor for fans. Spidey’s animated show will premiere on Disney+ in 2024. Before the premiere of season 1, the show was renewed for season 2, titled Spider-Man: Sophomore Year.

I am Groot also received an official teaser, which displayed the famed Marvel character’s adorable sequences. The show is classified as a short-animated series. The trailer shows Groot with a cute look, making friends and exploding objects in the hilarious way imaginable. The animated series will
consist of five short episodes, the first of which will be released on August 10.

X-Men and What If…? are set to release next year

Earlier this year, Marvel announced the continuation of the iconic X-Men animated series, titled X-Men ’97. The studio disclosed the release date at Comic-Con, confirming that the show will premiere in the fall of 2023.

What If…? premiered last year as the first animated series under the MCU label. The show reinterpreted the Marvel franchise’s original stories and events. Following season 1, the series was renewed for season 2. The animated show is set to debut in 2023 on Disney+.
