INDIA: With a total net worth of $115.4 billion, Adani ranked fourth on Forbes’ rich list. Compared to Gates, whose wealth is $104.2 billion, this is nearly $11 billion more.
Adani joined the $100 billion club on April 4 of this year and is now one of the top 5 wealthiest people in the world. Mukesh Ambani, head of Reliance Industries, dropped to the 10th spot on the list of the world’s wealthiest people.
The business tycoon is now only trailing three people: Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, who continues to hold the top spot with a total net worth of $234.4 billion; Bernard Arnault, the CEO of Louis Vuitton, who is in second place with $155.7 billion; and Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, who is in third place with $143.9 billion.
The previous two years have seen an outstanding performance from the shares of Adani Group entities. According to a report by the most recent Hurun rich list, Adani added the most wealth in 2021, totalling over $49 billion, at a rate of Rs 6,000 crore per person.
He surpassed the two richest people in the world, Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, to become the world’s highest gainer of wealth in absolute terms.
Gautam Adani is an Indian billionaire industrialist and philanthropist. He is the chairman and founder of the Adani Group, an Ahmedabad-based multinational conglomerate involved in port development and operations in India.
