UNITED KINGDOM: Annu Rani marks her presence in the World Athletics Championship 2022; the sportswoman is a national record holder of 63.82m in the Javelin throw. Listing among the top finalists, Annu Rani qualified eighth with Japan’s Haruka Kitaguchi acing the best Javelin throw of 64.32m and finished fifth in the Group B qualification round at Hayward Field Eugene, Oregon, USA.

The Sportstar Aces Sportswoman of the Year Awardee is yet to celebrate the third best hurl as she is skeptical about future performance. While giving an interview, the athlete revealed that it took time to warm up on the field and her first and second attempt was not desirable, so she was not happy. An athlete always prepares to give the best of her performance; until she can deliver that, the fire flicker of being the crème de la crème keeps flaring.

There would be nothing wrong in addressing Annu Rani as the Torchbearer for Indian Women in Athletics, as she is constantly breaking her own records in the rare sport of Javelin. The passionate Annu Rani breaks her own national record of 63.82m javelin throw, which she made this year in Jamshedpur. It was the AFI Indian Open event. Unfortunately, Rani couldn’t make her way to the World Athletics Championships, Doha, back in 2019, but she is ready to bang on this year. The Meerut born was the 1st Indian to reach the finals of the women’s javelin throw event in the World Athletics Championships.

This makes it loud and clear that she has a winning soul. Rani is also a gold medal winner with a throw of 58.83 meters. She bagged the silver medal at the 23rd Asian Athletics Championships in Qatar. Rani comes from a conservative, orthodox village, Bahadurpur. Her constant determination and self-esteem made her the best woman athlete.
