INDIA: Finally, the Liger trailer debuted with a bang, highlighting Vijay Deverakonda’s MMA journey in the titular role. The official trailer features insane action-packed sequences that literally wreak mayhem on the screen.
Liger is an upcoming Indian sports action film all set to release under the directorial vision of Puri Jagannadh, which stars Vijay Deverakonda, Mike Tyson, and Ananya Pandey in the lead roles. Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Vishu Reddy, Ali, Makarand Desh Pandey, and Getup Srinu round up the film’s ensemble in pivotal roles. Karan Johar and Charmme Kaur co-produced the film, which was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi.
Chiranjeevi, Prabhas, Ranveer Singh, and Dulquer Salmaan joined the trailer launch event
Prominent Indian celebs attended the trailer release event. Megastar Chiranjeevi and Prabhas unveiled the Telugu trailer. Ranveer Singh introduced the Hindi trailer, and Dulquer Salmaan released the Malayalam trailer.
Vijay Deverakonda posted the trailer on his social media handles. The actor tweeted, “India, We give you Mass. Action. Entertainment. The LIGER Trailer! #LIGER #LigerTrailer August 25 Worldwide release!”
The trailer emerges as a rollercoaster of action and emotions
The trailer begins with Ramya Krishnan’s character quoting the meaning of Liger, referring to Vijay Deverekonda’s character. The official clip’s scene switches to chaotic action sequences, guaranteeing that the enormous set piece overflows with thrill-induced emotions. Later, we see Vijay step into the ring, with powerful music in the background, heightening the character’s grandeur.
The footage portrays Vijay and Anaya’s blooming romance, which appears to be a roller coaster ride that entirely avoids the repetitive tropes. The trailer depicts Vijay’s persona as suffering from stammering, which emerges to be a huge challenge and serves as a fascinating character arc for the film.
The film follows Vijay’s transformation from a simple Chaiwala to an MMA fighter who aspires to represent India and win the MMA title. The trailer demonstrates his training sequences, which surely kindle the spark of a character’s transformation from zero to hero.
At the end of the trailer, we also get a glimpse of Mike Tyson in a spectacular stance. Vijay’s persona proclaims, “I’m a fighter,” to which Mike responds, “If you’re a fighter, what am I?” The dialogue throughout the clip hints at something intriguing about Mike’s character.
Liger is set to hit theatres on August 25 with a pan-Indian release dubbed in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
