INDIA: An invader from Pakistan crossed India Border to kill BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma over her controversial statement against Prophet Mohammad. The religiously motivated man named Rizwan Ashraf, aged around 24, was arrested from the India-Pakistan international border in the Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan. Ashraf is a resident of Mandi Bahauddin district in Pakistan’s Punjab province. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court granted Nupur Sharma protection because her life was threatened.
Sri Ganganagar, Superintendent of Police Anand Sharma, said, “The Pakistani national was arrested on the intervening night of July 16-17. During preliminary interrogation, the Pakistani man revealed that he planned to kill Nupur Sharma. He seems to be religiously motivated.” According to official reports, two knives, including a lever, three religious’ testimonies, a comb, hair oil, an electric tester, a route map, food, clothes and a national ID card of Pakistan and many more things were recovered from him. The accused had no clue how to reach Nupur Sharma. An FIR has been lodged against the accused under sections of the Foreigners Act, Indian Passport Act and Arms Act.
According to police sources, Rizwan attended a religious gathering in Pakistan and was encouraged to murder Sharma. An FIR has been filed against the accused under the Foreigners Act, the Indian Passport Act, and the Arms Act. If reports are to be believed, some alleged extremists from Patna are said to be targeting Nupur Sharma.
The heated Nupur Sharma case is catching fire in the entire country, encouraging religious rights in different states. Previously, an innocent tailor of Udaipur, Kanhaiyalal, lost his life for supporting Sharma’s statement. The accused captured the killing on their phones and issued a threat to PM Narendra Modi.
