Kesariya means ‘saffron’, the colour stands for courage and strength which probably showcase the bond and love between the couple. This new love song is shot in the ghats of Varanasi, where the couple is romancing in the narrow lanes of the city.
The Ayan Mukerji directorial movie stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead role whereas Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni are also part of the movie. Since its release, the song has already surpassed 22 million views, making it one of the most desirable songs of 2022.
Alia is donning a mustard top and a long skirt in the shades of yellow and white twirling and swirling in the ghats of the Ganga river, whereas Ranbir is wearing a simple white T-shirt paired with an unbuttoned shirt and Pant. The song has a special scene, where the couple is performing pooja at the Kashi Vishwanath temple.
Talking about the film, director Ayan Mukerji said, “Brahmastra began in 2011 itself and since then it took me 10 years for us to convert the dream into reality. The film has many inspirations, since childhood, I was very fond of our history, and mythology and many films have been made in the fantasy and superhero genre, but they were not connected to our roots.
“I took inspiration from our mythology and history. I believe that every Indian in this country is connected to our culture. So that is the root of Brahmastra. The film’s inspiration is from our mythology but it is based on today’s world,” he added.
