The popular Netflix series is nominated for Outstanding Drama Series. Vecna’s ominous appearance, which evokes the horror of the 1980s, also received a nomination for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup. It’s impossible to forget the episode Dear Billy’s best musical selection, which is also nominated for Outstanding Music Supervision.

Netflix announced the Emmy nominations on its Twitter account. The tweet read, “Stranger Things 4 scored 13 Emmy nominations this year, including Outstanding Drama Series plus Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup and Outstanding Music Supervision for Dear Billy, the episode that prominently features Kate Bush’s now-omnipresent 1985 smash Running Up That Hill!”

Despite getting nominated for the Outstanding Drama Series, the show failed to gain nominations in any other major category. None of the major cast members garnered a single nomination. However, Millie Bobby Brown and Sadie Sink’s performances were the show’s highlights in season 4, yet they received no nominations in the main category.

Season 4 opens the floodgates of viewership

Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1 set a new standard for all previous seasons when it premiered on May 27, 2022. Volume 1 had the highest number of hours watched in a weekend premiere for a streaming series, at 286.79 million.
